About This Puppy Birthday Invitation Template

Six different puppies tumble around the edge of this card, and each one is busy with something. A floppy-eared beagle pup crouches beside a red ball, a golden pup lounges in front of a red doghouse with a bone over the door, a dalmatian in a red collar leans in from the right, and a fluffy white terrier in a blue collar sits on the left. At the bottom, a pug rests its chin near a blue polka-dot ball and a corgi in a red spotted bandana grins from the corner. A second doghouse, blue with a red roof, peeks in from the right, and bones, a tennis ball and paw prints fill every gap on a wavy border of sky blue and sunshine yellow.

Because the pups are a mixed litter, no single breed is the star, which helps when the family dog is a mutt or when there is no dog at home yet. The name is a bright red script, the age line chunky and black, and the date, time and place sit in plain type on a soft butter-yellow field that keeps paws and bones well clear of the words. Every dog has a pink tongue out and big shiny eyes, so the whole card reads as one happy dog party.

Three layouts

  • Puppy birthday invitation template, Center card

    Center card

The pups move into a backyard with grass, daisies, a picket fence and a string of red, yellow and blue bunting; a cream curly-haired puppy peeks over the top of the white panel beside the red age badge while the others play hide-and-seek around its sides.

  • Puppy birthday invitation template, Framed

    Framed

The puppies hold the corners and the sides, leaving a pale yellow oval in the middle for the details.

  • Puppy birthday invitation template, With photo

    With photo

A red-ringed spot for your child's picture sits at the top of the oval, between the beagle and the golden pup; a shot of your child hugging the family dog suits it well.

Three color schemes

  • Fire hydrant red
  • Dog collar blue
  • Backyard lawn green

A scheme recolors the lettering, badge and QR code, never the artwork.

Who This Puppy Invitation Is For

Puppy and dog parties are most common from about two to eight. These pups are chubby and wide-eyed, the kind a toddler points at and names one by one, and an older child who is campaigning for a real dog will happily go along with a "puppy adoption" party.

It suits any child. Fire hydrant red is the liveliest of the schemes; Dog collar blue gives a calmer card; Backyard lawn green echoes the grass in the center layout. Want the name to match your own dog's collar? Pick that color in the style panel, and if it would be hard to read on the yellow, the editor shifts the shade and lets you know.

Puppy Party Ideas to Match

  • Puppy adoption station

Line a cardboard box with a blanket, fill it with small stuffed puppies and set out simple adoption forms: the pup's name, its favorite toy, a signature. A ribbon tied as a collar finishes it, and the puppy is the party favor.

  • Backyard dog show

Kids parade their newly adopted pups around a rope ring while a grown-up announces each one. Hand out paper rosettes for "fluffiest", "best trick" and "loudest bark" until everyone has won something.

  • Bone hunt and ball toss

Hide paper bones around the room or garden, then turn a big cardboard box into a doghouse like the one on the card and toss tennis balls through the door.

  • Pupcakes and kibble mix

Cupcakes with cookie ears and a candy nose, and a "kibble" mix of cereal and pretzels served in brand-new dog bowls. If the guest list is a class, keep the mix nut-free.

Puppy Invitation Template FAQ

Can I use this card for my dog's birthday?

Yes. Type your dog's name where the child's name goes and rewrite the age line, for example "Turning 3 (21 in dog years)". The RSVP page works the same, so you still see who is coming and how many.

Can the photo show my child and our dog together?

Yes. The With photo layout has room for one picture in a round frame near the top, so a photo of the two of them together works well. Crop it so both faces sit near the middle.

Is the puppy invitation for boys or girls?

Both. The pups and the bright red, blue and yellow suit any child. Choose the scheme you like, or set your own lettering color in the style panel.

Is this template really free?

Yes, all of it. Downloading the card and seeing replies need a free account.

Do guests need an account to RSVP?

No. They scan the code or open the link, then enter their child's name, who is coming and any food allergies.

Can the card be in another language?

Yes, any of eight, chosen above the form; the guests' RSVP page follows it.

Looking for a favorite character?

Templates stick to themes anyone can use. For a character your child loves, our AI designs an invitation in that world, just for your party.
