About This Mermaid Birthday Invitation Template

The mermaid swims into the card at its top left. She is an original character with warm brown skin, a cloud of dark brown curls, a coral starfish clipped in her hair, a shell top and a long coral-pink tail. Below her, the border becomes a reef worth exploring: a sea turtle paddles along the left side, a seahorse curls its tail on the right, an orange-striped fish and a yellow-and-blue one dart past, and the sandy floor holds an open clam with a pearl, a spiral shell, starfish and branches of pink coral. Strings of bubbles rise through all of it.

With the white panel layout she peeks over its upper edge, sunlight slanting down through the water and a little school of fish overhead. Her name line is set in a looping italic script in deep teal, like the lettering on an old seaside postcard, with the details below in a sturdy rounded face. There is enough on the border for a young guest to play spot-the-sea-creature while a parent reads out the time.

Three layouts

  • Mermaid birthday invitation template, Center card

    Center card

Sunlit water, the peeking mermaid, the turtle and a big scallop shell frame a white panel, and a teal badge holds the age.

  • Mermaid birthday invitation template, Framed

    Framed

The reef runs right around the edge and the middle opens into pale aqua water, where the details float with plenty of room.

  • Mermaid birthday invitation template, With photo

    With photo

The birthday child's picture floats in a circle in the open water, across from the mermaid; one taken at the pool or the beach looks especially at home.

Three color schemes

  • Deep lagoon
  • Coral pink
  • Abalone violet

A scheme recolors the lettering, badge and QR code, never the artwork.

Who This Mermaid Invitation Is For

Mermaid parties are popular from about four to nine, and especially in summer, when the party can move to a pool, a splash pad or the beach. The card is calm and detailed rather than glittery, so it holds up for a third or fourth grader who has outgrown anything babyish.

It is usually chosen for girls, though the reef, the turtle and the fish make it a fine ocean card for any child; Deep lagoon is the least pink of the three schemes. Coral pink matches the mermaid's tail if you want the card to feel warmer.

Mermaid Birthday Invitation Wording

Ocean puns come easily for a mermaid party. Use them on the card itself, and keep swimsuits, towels and pickup times for the message guests see when they reply.

Printing tips for this design

  • The background is a pale aqua wash rather than white, so it drinks more ink than you might expect. Print on matte card at the top quality setting, and if the sea comes out greenish, check whether the cyan cartridge is running low.

Mermaid Party Ideas to Match

  • Pearl dive

Scatter white ping-pong balls in a shallow paddling pool and let children scoop them out with fish nets. One adult watches the water the whole time, however shallow it is.

  • Seashell painting

A bag of clean craft shells and a set of paint pens is an easy table activity. The shells dry in about half an hour and go home as favors.

  • Ocean cups

Blue gelatin set with a gummy fish inside each clear cup, topped with a spoonful of crushed graham cracker sand. Make them the night before so they are firm.

  • Message-in-a-bottle hunt

Roll paper clues into clean plastic bottles and hide them around the yard, each one leading to the next, until the last points to a box of treasure for everyone.

Mermaid Invitation Template FAQ

Is the mermaid on this card from a movie?

No. She is an original character made for this template, with dark curly hair and a coral-pink tail, not anyone from a film or a show.

Is this mermaid invitation good for a pool party?

Very much so. "Bring a swimsuit and towel" fits in your own line, and the swim time, pool rules and pickup belong in the guest note on the reply page, which has space for a few sentences.

Can I put my daughter's or son's photo on it?

Choose With photo, then add a picture from your phone. It shows inside a circle in the open water, with the reef all around it.

Is this template really free?

Yes, all of it. Downloading the card and seeing replies need a free account.

Do guests need an account to RSVP?

No. They scan the code or open the link, then enter their child's name, who is coming and any food allergies.

Can the card be in another language?

Yes, any of eight, chosen above the form; the guests' RSVP page follows it.
