About This Star Birthday Invitation Template
This is a night sky, not a pastel one. The ground is deep navy and the stars are flat and bright: big white and golden ones at the corners, cornflower-blue and tangerine stars down the sides, and tiny four-point twinkles in between. On the center card layout, a pattern of muted gold, blue and grey dots fills the dark around a pale panel.
The lettering is the chunkiest of the star cards: tall, heavy capitals with a playful bounce, the name in gold and the age line in white. In the frame and photo layouts the words sit straight on the navy, so the card has strong contrast from across a room, while the QR code gets its own white tile so phones read it without trouble.
Three layouts

Center card
A dotted navy sky surrounds a soft grey panel, the name turns a deeper gold for contrast, and the age sits in a gold badge. The text on the light panel is the most forgiving choice if your printer struggles with dark grounds.

Framed
Stars crowd all four edges while the middle stays open sky, with gold and white text set right on the navy.

With photo
A gold ring frames the photo above the name. Bright, well-lit pictures pop against the dark; a dim indoor shot can sink into it.
Three color schemes
- Starlight gold
- Cornflower
- Comet orange
A scheme recolors the lettering, badge and QR code, never the artwork.
Who This Star Invitation Is For
Stars carry across a wide range, roughly four to twelve, and the dark ground makes this version look older than the pastel ones. It fits a stargazing or glow-in-the-dark party, a backyard camp-out, an evening at a nature center, or simply a child who deserves to hear "you're a star" all day long.
No cartoon figures and no pink-or-blue coding, so any child can claim it. Starlight gold is the classic, Cornflower keeps the name cool and calm, and Comet orange is the warmest of the three.

Printing tips for this design
- The navy covers the whole card and uses a lot of ink: print one test copy first, choose the best quality setting, and let the sheets dry flat before stacking them so the dark areas do not transfer.
- Matte card stock keeps the navy deep and stops glare on the QR code; glossy paper shows every fingerprint on a dark color. If your printer leaves a white margin, use the two-up Letter or A4 sheet and cut along its crop marks for a clean dark edge.
Star Party Ideas to Match
Glow-in-the-dark room
Stick glow stars on the ceiling, dim the lights and hand out glow bracelets. Glow sticks are not for chewing, so leave them out for children under three.
Backyard stargazing
Pick a clear night, spread blankets on the lawn and open a free star-map app on a parent's phone. Finding the Big Dipper first gives everyone a starting point. Keep the fire pit and the s'mores under adult supervision.
Walk of fame
Cut large gold stars from card stock, write one guest name on each and tape them along the hallway, so every child arrives to their own star. They take it home at the end.
Star-cut snacks
A star cookie cutter turns sandwiches, cheese slices and watermelon into star shapes. Serve "moon rock" popcorn only to kids four and up.
Star Invitation Template FAQ
Will a dark navy invitation print well at home?
Yes, with a little care. Use the best quality setting and matte card, and print a test copy first. The center card layout puts all the text on a pale panel, which stays crisp even when the navy comes out slightly uneven.
Can I use it for an evening party?
It was made for one. The card shows the start and end time, and the note on the RSVP page can tell families what to bring for an outdoor night, such as a jacket or a flashlight.
Can I change the gold name to another color?
Yes. Cornflower and Comet orange are ready-made alternatives, and the style panel takes any color you like. On the pale center panel the gold is automatically set a shade deeper so it stays readable.
Is this template really free?
Yes, all of it. Downloading the card and seeing replies need a free account.
Do guests need an account to RSVP?
No. They scan the code or open the link, then enter their child's name, who is coming and any food allergies.
Can the card be in another language?
Yes, any of eight, chosen above the form; the guests' RSVP page follows it.
